About Dr. Monya Maleki, PT, DPT,

Dr. Monya Maleki, Doctor of Physical Therapy, brings a diverse background in movement, performance, and rehabilitation to her work with patients of all levels. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Northwestern University and has a strong foundation in sports performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.

Dr. Maleki has a unique history as a student athletic trainer, piano and ballet instructor, and ballet coach for a NCAA Division II football team. Her passion for integrating performing arts and athletic performance led her to co-author a pilot study exploring the benefits of ballet-based training for football players—research that continues to influence her treatment philosophy. She currently treats and trains a skeleton athlete preparing for the Winter Olympics.

With extensive experience as a competitive dancer and instructor across ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and pointe, Dr. Maleki is skilled in movement analysis and technique optimization, especially in the performing arts setting. She has treated a wide range of performers, including singers, conductors, and instrumentalists, and previously worked in London with West End theater professionals. She continues to support Broadway performers visiting Miami as a PRN provider.

Dr. Maleki emphasizes a collaborative, movement-based approach to care. Her goal is to guide patients through recovery while helping them exceed their prior levels of function—ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life, performance, and fitness.
