Dr. Mario Espinosa received his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Miami.
Prior to his physical therapy education, Dr. Espinosa attended the University of Central Florida on an academic scholarship where he majored in Health Sciences and minored in Health Service Administration. Dr. Espinosa grew up an avid baseball player but suffered a rotator cuff injury in high school which led to his stint as a patient in physical therapy, thus exposing him to the world of rehabilitation. It was these experiences in rehab that sparked Dr. Espinosa’s passion for physical therapy. His firsthand experience as a patient gives him a unique perspective as to what patients experience throughout their plan of care.
From his experience as both a patient and therapist, Dr. Espinosa is well versed in the entire rehab process and possesses the skill set to challenge both orthopedic and neurological patients of all levels in their return to activity. He utilizes manual therapy techniques and corrective exercises to develop a tailored plan of care for each individual patient. Additionally, he carefully selects tissue manipulation techniques such as cupping, joint mobilizations, percussion, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, and various massage techniques to decrease pain and prepare patients for activity all in order to return patients to their optimal health. Dr. Espinosa is bilingual, speaking fluent English and Spanish, allowing him to connect with a greater reach of patients.
Dr. Espinosa treats exclusively at our Fisher Island location within the Spa Internazionale.
