Dr. Janessie Ibañez received her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in 2018. Since the start of her career, Dr. Ibañez has gone on to achieve certifications as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and a Certified Graston Provider.
Before becoming a DPT, Dr. Ibañez was a dancer and group fitness instructor. She combined her interests in the arts and fitness with her passion to help others and propelled forward into her next chapter in life, where she had the opportunity to work with world-class performers, including dancers, singers, and acrobatic specialists. Dr. Mena utilized her skills as a physical therapist and prior knowledge of dance and the arts, to assure these performers were ready to return back to their sport injury-free and confident in their performance abilities. Prior to joining the USA Sports Therapy team, she developed her capabilities at an Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapy clinic with a wide client-base, ranging from high school students to weekend warriors and all in-between, with a variety of injuries and levels of activity.
Dr. Ibañez’s treatment approach is centered around the patient’s needs and includes a combination of advanced hands-on manual therapy techniques, corrective exercises, joint manipulations, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilizations, cupping, kinematic taping, along with personalized exercise plan, all meant to get each patient back to living their lives to their fullest potential.
