Dr. Eric Havey received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, in 2019. Since graduation, Dr. Havey has focused his practice on outpatient sports and orthopedics, providing physical therapy and strength and conditioning services to a wide range of patient populations, from weekend warriors to high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. Through the years, Dr. Havey has gained experience in treating NFL, MLB, UFC, MLS, Formula 1, and IndyCar athletes. He has furthered his clinical expertise and treatment skills by becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and by completing Level 1 and Level 2 Master Dry Needling Certifications (MDNC).
Dr. Havey’s treatment emphasizes the importance of not only returning individuals to their prior level of function but also improving their overall health, performance, and movement patterns to prepare them for future success. In addition to restoring pain-free movement patterns through exercise, he addresses orthopedic dysfunction by utilizing manual therapy techniques – including dry needling, soft tissue mobilization, and joint mobilization.
Originally from Le Mars, Iowa, Dr. Havey grew up playing many sports, including baseball, football, tennis, basketball, and golf. He continues to lead an active lifestyle, training and playing recreational sports daily. Dr. Havey believes that a good physical therapist will decrease your pain, but a great physical therapist will emphasize education to give you the tools to achieve, maintain and exceed your goals – this is his goal and expectation for each patient or athlete he meets.
