Darrell completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami in 2023. Before entering the DPT program, Darrell worked as a biomedical scientist at University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine researching stem cell therapy for various diseases, such as Type 1 diabetes and cardiomyopathies.
Darrell has a passion for regenerative medicine and has presented research at 2023 Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) entitled “The Cardiorespiratory Response during Resistance and Aerobic Exercises with Blood Flow Restriction”.As a former D1 Track & Field athlete at Murray State University, Darrell’s interest in sprinting biomechanics was piqued, along with understanding the importance of prehab techniques, to avoid serious injury while competing. This experience set him on the path to learning and researching sports-specific rehab techniques and, eventually, his DPT.
Darrell enjoys treating patients of all backgrounds in outpatient orthopedics with a true passion for treatment of athletes of all ages and level, incorporating evidence-based care, strength training, and performance therapy to assist patients reach their individual recovery goals and beyond. He uses spinal manipulations, joint mobilizations, manual therapy techniques, and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) to decrease patient pain and enhance patient function. In his free time, Darrell enjoys working out, playing golf, and drawing.
