Dr. Bixie Lopez-Castro received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from
The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in 2019. Since the start of her career, Dr.
Lopez-Castro has focused on outpatient orthopedics, working with a wide variety of
patients from all ages and activity levels.
Dr. Lopez-Castro’s treatment emphasizes on bringing her patients back to their optimal
movement patterns to ensure a safe return to their specific activities. She incorporates
manual therapy practices into each individualized plan of care, ensuring a tailored
program to address every patient’s needs. Dr. Lopez-Castro’s manual skills include
cupping, instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilizations (IASTM), joint mobilizations and
multiple soft tissue massage techniques. She specializes in treating a variety of
pathologies such as neck/back injuries, post-operative care, neurological issues, as well
as vestibular dysfunction.
Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Dr. Lopez-Castro was an avid soccer and tennis
player, discovering her passion for rehabilitation after a few injuries of her own. Born
and raised in Miami, Dr. Lopez-Castro enjoys giving back to the community that raised
her through her ability to return patients to the prior level of function and achieve their
maximum potential.
