Physical Therapy

USA Sports Medicine Orthopedics

Our Initial Exam and Process

Our physical therapists will spend 60-75 minutes to review your medical history and current complaint.  We will perform an extremely detailed physical assessment focusing on specific tissues or movement patterns that could be causing your issue.  We will use various evaluation systems including the functional movement screen and Titleist Performance Institute assessment.  Once we come up with an accurate diagnosis, we will formulate a comprehensive treatment plan that will include specific exercises, manual therapy techniques, and the use of specific modalities including but not limited to dry needling, blood flow restriction, and the Gameready.  You will also be given exercises to complete at home to supplement the days that you are not coming for therapy.  We pride ourselves on our individualized plans and will help take you from injury all way back to performance so you can live pain free!

What is Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapists (PTs) are healthcare professionals who diagnose and treat individuals with health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. As movement specialists, our PTs can identify impairments and develop treatment plans to optimize function, reduce pain and prevent disability. Also, our PT’s work with patients to develop home-exercise/fitness & wellness programs to restore mobility, prevent further injury, and maintain a healthier and more active lifestyle.

What Makes Us Special?

At USA Sports Medicine, all of our PT’s are certified in Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy.  We believe in life-long learning and spend a significant amount of time on continuing education, evidence-based practice, and mentorship.  We were all former athletes and treat each individual attention while focusing on improving not only physical health, but mental health, nutrition, sleep, and stress to take you even further past your baseline level.  We specialize in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions such as fractures, sprains/strains, tendonitis, bursitis, post-operative rehab, lower back and neck pain.  Skilled interventions include, but are not limited to, joint mobilization/manipulation, Dry Needling, manual therapy/massage, Graston, Blood Flow Restriction Therapy, Normatec Boots, Gameready, electrical stimulation, cryotherapy, and exercise prescription for strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, or tissue healing/vascularization.  No matter your age or activity level, USA Sports has the team to help you!

PHYSICAL THERAPY FAQS

Physical therapy consists of different treatments designed to enhance the soft tissues, build muscle strength, and reduce pain. Physical therapy is commonly recommended for neck pain, back pain, sports injuries, and injuries resulting from car accidents.

Insurance companies are not required to cover physical therapy. However, many plans do offer coverage for treatment at specific facilities like ours. If you're looking into our Miami physical therapy clinic and have insurance questions, feel free to ask an expert during your consultation appointment with us.

The number of physical therapy sessions you need will depend on your injury and the severity of it. We will work with you to help determine a treatment plan that is right for you so that you can get back to optimal health as soon as possible.

After you finish your physical therapy sessions, we will likely provide you with post-therapy recommendations such as exercises to do at home and in the gym. We know that sometimes it can be difficult for our patients to schedule a second appointment with us after completing their treatment plan, so we want to ensure you are well equipped with all of the necessary knowledge before going back to your normal routine.
